The Intensive Eye Cream is formulated specifically for the skin around the eye, which at around 0.5mm thick is the most delicate and reactive skin on the face. It shows ageing first and responds worst to ingredients calibrated for thicker facial skin. Every active in this formula was chosen for both its efficacy on the eye area specifically and its tolerability on thin, sensitive skin. Lemon Myrtle Extract (Backhousia Citriodora) is the first listed ingredient and forms the base of the formula. It provides antimicrobial protection, gentle brightening action from its citral compounds, and anti-inflammatory calming that reduces the puffiness caused by fluid retention and inflammation. Research has confirmed it is more potent as an antimicrobial than tea tree oil at equivalent concentrations, but with a superior tolerability profile for sensitive skin. Seabuckthorn Kernel Extract provides Omega fatty acids including the rare Omega 7, palmitoleic acid, which is naturally present in skin tissue and declines with age. The carotenoid content provides antioxidant protection for the thin eye area skin that is highly vulnerable to UV-generated damage. Cucumber Seed Oil has a cooling, vasoconstricting effect that reduces the appearance of dilated blood vessels under the eye and visibly reduces puffiness. Jojoba Oil and Safflower Oil provide a lightweight lipid carrier. Native Lemon Aspen (Acronychia Acidula), an Australian rainforest fruit, strengthens capillary walls under the eye. This is the mechanism responsible for reducing dark circles caused by poor blood circulation and vascular pooling, which is the most common cause of under-eye darkness in men. Resveratrol from Red Wine Extract provides powerful antioxidant protection. The skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face, typically less than half a millimetre, and it behaves differently to the skin on the rest of your face. The Intensive Eye Cream is formulated with this in mind. Lemon Myrtle brightens dark circles, Cucumber and Seabuckthorn reduce puffiness and provide nourishment, and Olive Leaf Extract delivers antioxidant protection to an area that accumulates sun damage faster than anywhere else. The formula is deliberately lightweight precisely because of how sensitive this area is.

If you have a history of contact dermatitis around the eyes, or if you have had a reaction to an eye product in the past, patch test on the inner forearm for 24 hours before you use it near the eyes. The orbital area responds much faster to sensitising ingredients than the forearm does. A 24-hour forearm test is not a guarantee, but it is a reasonable precaution.

Apply to the orbital bone, the bony ridge around the eye socket, using a gentle tapping motion with your ring finger. Do not apply directly to the eyelid or to the inner corner near the tear duct. If the product migrates into the eye and causes stinging, rinse with cool water. This is not a safety concern, it is an application technique issue.

The most important expectation to set clearly: if your under-eye concern is structural hollowing, significant volume loss, or pronounced structural bags, those are anatomical features that no topical product can correct. Eye cream works on what sits at and above the surface: dark circles from pigmentation and poor circulation, puffiness from fluid retention, fine lines from dryness and sun damage. For structural concerns, a consultation with a cosmetic practitioner is the appropriate first step, not a topical treatment.
